How AtmosAir™ Bipolar Ionization Air Purification Works

Airflow passes through our patented AtmosAir™ bipolar ionization tube. The tube energizes the air to form bipolar — positive and negative — air ions.

The airflow distributes the energized ions into all of the spaces served by the duct system in an in-duct installation, or into the applicable space if a standalone unit is used. It’s that simple and elegant! The beauty of the AtmosAir™ system is just how easily it integrates into existing commercial and residential HVAC systems.

Unlike most air purification systems, AtmosAir™ seeks out and neutralizes the contaminants at their source. This is vastly superior to most air purification methods because it works “in the space” where we work and play. AtmosAir™ doesn’t wait for the pollutants to find their way into the filter within the air handler. Instead, air ions go to the contaminants in the space where you breathe, just as in nature.

The size and number of 508FC ionization systems is dependent upon the airflow, size of the space, and severity of the pollution and odors.

Application: The AtmosAir FC100 ionization system is intended to be mounted in the supply discharge in smaller air handling systems such as fan coils, heat pumps and other unitary type systems. The system can be integrated on an OEM basis, or a retrofit package is also available. Access to the unit’s control panel is provided. The unit will be calibrated at the factory per AtmosAir recommendations or the contractor will calibrate the ionization setting to attain ion level readings of between 350 and 1,500 negative ions/cm3 in the space.

Capacity: Up to 1400 CFM

Application: The AtmosAir FC-400 ionization system is intended to be mounted in the supply discharge in smaller air handling systems such as fan coil, heat pump and other unitary type systems. The system can be integrated on an OEM basis or a retrofit package is also provided. The unit will be calibrated at the factory per AtmosAir recommendations to attain ion level readings of between 350 and 1,500 –ions/cm3.
